What does it take to start your own Lady Planeswalkers Society Chapter??
STEP ONE: Believe in your vision
I am going to be repetitive about this. My vision: a friendly, welcoming, fun place where all genders can learn and compete at Magic: the Gathering!
STEP TWO: Speak to Game Stores in Your Area
If you don't know of a game store, use this handy tool: CLICK HERE FOR A GAME STORE LOCATOR!
Speak to the store(s) and show them the vision: a friendly, welcoming, fun place where all genders can learn and compete!
Get them as excited as you are. If it helps, explain that this was wildly successful in Seattle.
Become partners with the store (or if that doesn't work, find a coffee shop or library)! Find a time that works for both of you and plan your first event. We started on Tuesday nights every other week. Now we do Tuesdays every week, and every other Thursday in a different location.

STEP THREE: Generate Interest
Start with friends that are women, significant others of MtG players, children of Magic players, female board gamers and diverse board game groups, the LGBTQ community in your area, other women you know in the area that play Magic even if you don't "know" them. Show them the vision: a friendly, welcoming, fun place where all genders can learn and compete!
Move to signs and internet advertising: Facebook (and Facebook events), Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, posters on college campuses or in coffee shops... Have handouts and fliers in the game store. Create business cards to hand out.
If there are local conventions in your area (or you travel to conventions), this is one of the best opportunities possible to spread the word about your group.
Invite everyone!

How Much Product Does it Take to Start?
You can start with some Intro Packs or throw together a few decks from your commons. Ask a local store if they have promotional 30 card sample decks for use. You don't need much! Just a couple decks to teach new players with. You can also let those who don't have their own decks yet borrow some for the evening.
Lastly, DON'T GIVE UP!
Even if the first couple events aren't very successful, KEEP TRYING!
If you have any other questions, contact Tifa Robles.
I would love to see more people benefiting from this awesome game and the experience of an enjoyable, diversity-friendly environment!
Once you've created a chapter, contact Tifa Robles and provide her a link to your Facebook Group, Page, or website to add to the "official" list of chapters. All we ask is that you follow or anti-harassment policy and share our goals.
Let's do what we can to make the Magic community a better place!
